The Dierk Brothers (Hans & Herman)
were leaders in their industry and owned businesses in Iowa, Nebraska &
North Dakota. They kept moving into Missouri & Arkansas. In 1909 they
moved into Oklahoma and built a railroad across
southeastern Oklahoma. They founded
towns such as Broken Bow, Bismark and later Wright City as major mill
towns to support various aspects of their logging business.
