Sears & Roebuck
In 1886 Richard W.
Sears resigned as a Railroad Agent and founded the R.W. Sears Watch
Company in Chicago Illinois.
In 1887 Alvah C.
Roebuck joins Sears after answering a newspaper ad for a watch
Sears & Roebuck started
their company selling watches, but also began selling diamonds &
jewelry. They constantly expanded the merchandise they sold to become a
full service Department Store.
This particular watch is a
"mid-size or 3/4 size" wrist watch. Nearly all Divers Style or Alarm
watches are large, bulky or clunky timepieces. This mid-size Diver Style
Alarm watch not so bulky and measures only
The case measures 32.25mm wide
(not counting dual stems or crowns) by
lug to lug making this a great watch for either male or female that
wants the "sporty" styling without all of the bulk of divers watches or
alarm watches. The outer black enameled rotating bezel can be turned

pin-lever Jeweled Quality Precision Manual-Wind Movement with the upper
crown (at the 2:00 position) for winding up and setting the time, and
the lower crown (at the 4:00 position) for winding and setting the alarm
feature. The time portion and the alarm have separate mainsprings and
will work independent of each other.
All Original dial. This easy read dial features flat matte black
enameled background with bold
white enameled 1-12 Arabic numbers, Sears, Alarm, Swiss, inner minutes
track & outer seconds track. The tiny abrasion is NOT on the mint
condition dial. It is on the crystal & has been "blow-up" at 1800% for
our close up pictures.
This watch comes
with a proper period piece padded & stitched calfskin strap.
